I started my career generating evidence as a health researcher. As a research scientist at Children’s Health in Dallas, I analyzed trauma registry data and mapped injury patterns that supported Texas booster seat legislation. As an Assistant Professor of Health Science at Texas Woman’s University, I led epidemiological studies on vaccine uptake and chronic disease severity, published eight first-author articles in five years, and reviewed regularly for seven peer-reviewed journals.
That grounding shapes how I write. When I develop a manuscript, I’m asking the questions a reviewer will ask: Do the results support the authors’ conclusions? Is the interpretation balanced, without overstating clinical significance? What are the limitations?
In 2016, I moved from academia into the industry. I developed manuscripts, abstracts, posters, slide decks and regulatory documents at Syneos Health, Ashfield and Evidera, working across rheumatology, oncology, rare disease, diabetes and cardiovascular medicine. I went on to serve as Scientific Director and Team Lead at Envision Pharma Group, followed by becoming a Senior Team Lead over a scientific services group at a global pharmaceutical company.
Along the way, I’ve managed publication timelines and budgets, led author meetings, selected target journals, and mentored medical writers. That experience helps me anticipate review bottlenecks, keep stakeholders aligned and move complex deliverables toward submission. Through my consulting practice, I bring that senior-level perspective directly to pharmaceutical teams.
